The Canadian Pharmacists Association is approved by the Canadian Council on Continuing Education in Pharmacy as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. This course has been approved for 3.0 CEUs under program number 02CPhA2003-0603. Accreditation of this program is valid until 30 June 2009.

This online program is intended for pharmacists who will be involved in the delivery of emergency contraception.

The Emergency Contraception Training Program is divided into five main modules. These include:

  • Module 1 - ECP & Unintended Pregnancy
  • Module 2 - Risk of Pregnancy
  • Module 3 - Plan B (Part 1)
  • Module 4 - Plan B (Part 2) & STIs
  • Module 5 - ECP: Guidelines & Case

Each of these modules consists of three main components.

  • A patient case presented in Flash with photographs and audio.
  • A Real Audio slide presentation with audio narration summarizing the key points covered in the module
  • The detailed module content with Clinical Tips and Check Your Knowledge self-quiz questions.
